hurricaneoasis 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 I've got a problem with one of my skate blades on a new pair of CCM Vector skates... they feel fine when I'm skating, but when I'm walking from the ice to the dressing room it feels like my skate blade is loose, and it makes a sort of clicking sound. It almost sounds/feels like every time I lift up my foot the blade drops out down a bit from the holder, then when I step down it's "clicking" back into place. When I look at the blade it looks fine, and if I try to pull it down (out) with my hands it wont budge, it won't move side to side either, it seems pretty solidly in the holder, except for when I walk and I hear that sound. It's sort of hard to explain, but does anyone have any idea what it may be?

Bungee Man 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 I heard that some of the ONE90's had this problem. To fix it on the ONE90's you are supposed to take out the blade, and then put it back in. Maybe that will work for your Vectors too.

Unfortunately I'm stuck in Nashville TN and there's nobody around that I'd trust to do skate repair. I was going to unscrew the blade from the holder and see if I saw anything. It feels entirely solid when skating or doing anything else, but I'm afraid that if it's loose it'll only get worse.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Make sure the screw is tight and you should be fine. A little blue loc-tite really seems to help. I have seen a lot of CCM skates that had the screws cross-threaded and had to be replaced.

SO IT MADE THE COST OF MY SHARPENING GO FROM 1€ to 321€

You just need a flat blade screwdriver and an 5/16" nut driver/socket. Take the screws out, put on a little lock-tite and put the whole thing back together. Its incredibly easy. You don't need to take them to a shop to get it done.
