NBA Skills Competition and ASG

Who enjoyed the dunk competition? I felt they judge it very poorly. That Dwight Howard sticker dunk was awesome, although he is 7 feet. They should only give 10s for something new and creative. What Nate Robinson does for his height is amazing but once you've seen it several times it isn't great anymore. I also feel once they fail at a dunk like Robinson did 10 times in a row points should be taken off. Also very little effort is given in the skills course.

Gerald Green put on a much better showing at the High School dunk contest. Big Dwight got robbed with that sticker dunk. Everybody is complaining about how there is nothing new in the contest(s), and he does something like that. I really wanted to see Dwight and Green in the finals, but Nate's first dunk was sick. Rumor has it that Dwight was going to kiss the rim then dunk. The big fella has quite a few tricks up his sleeve. So what he's a 7-footer? How many 7'0 guys do you know that can do anything but a simple flush?

Realistically, there was NOT even ONE clean 50 dunk in this years contest. The last Green dunk wasn't close to a 50 dunk.

High school dunk comps are great, maybe even better

we have one every year at our school.

they are fun to watch!

i also agree about the sticker dunk. it was much better imo, then some of the others rated highewr than it! i guess jordan and the othersdidnt find them too impressive!

I think we had three kids in the whole school who could dunk my senior year. One kid was 6-9, another who was 6-4 and one who was 5-11. That's what you get when you go to a small town school in the middle of Pennsyltucky.

We had two. Only saw one of them dunk once in a game, too. People were way too afraid to get rim checked.

Ouch. Our school never had a contest, but just about everyone on our team was able to flush, with the exception of maybe 3 or 4 kids. One of them was our 6'5 starting center...pathetic. Theres even a kid on our team this year thats in 8th grade and can throw it down easy.

The other two guys did in a game, I could do it off a fast break but not from a standstill.

The best dunk contest I have seen was the McDonalds All American game in 2003. Lebron won the contest (due to his reputation) but Shannon Brown had one of the best dunks I have ever seen, a 360 from maybe a step inside the foul line. Now they are teamates, figure that (although I wish Shannon was still in college).
