Converting player roller skate to goalie roller skate

Recommended Posts

Here's the situation. My team is losing their roller goalie this year, so one of the guys occasionally plays ice goalie and roller goalie. (he borrowed the old goalie's skates for roller)

So my buddy doesn't have a set of ice goalie skates to convert (can't seem to find goalie chassis anyways) but he does have an older pair of mission (D4 or something like that IIRC) player skates with a broken chassis.

I've searched around a bit for some cheap chassis that *might* work as goalie chassis with a player skate: would any of these work and what would be recommended?

Suregrip H-305

Bauer TUUK Shock Rocker (if it's the same one from Smart Hockey, they do have a configuration for goalies)

Better yet, anybody have an alternate suggestion?

ive never seen a goalie wear the rockers, and i have seen a ton of goalies use the suregrip, they are a tank of a chassis btw. the suregrip and some small goalie wheels should work fine for roller.

I've seen the suregrip used a lot. Don't think the rocker works well for a goalie. Almost any Inline Hockey skate will work well w/ goalie wheels, though.
