Question Regarding Itech HS22 Pro Wave Mirrored Visor

Recommended Posts

Now I know some of you will probably say, this has been asked allot ( yes I did do a search, but did not see the answer I was looking for ) but here goes I am going to ask it again.

Just how dark is the Itech HS22 Pro Wave Mirrored Visor, could you relate it to a really dark pair of Sunglasses?, does it simply dim things, or does it actually darken things.

Also for anyone who has used it for a number of games, does it bother you to have two different fields of view ( by that I mean when you look down everything it brighter than when you are looking strait ahead )

I am also wondering how it looks through a blue Visor, as I was also looking at that.

I have already tried yellow and don't like that as it over saturates things I find.

It is comparable to your average pair of sunglasses...not super dark sunglasses.

It hasn't bothered me to have the 2 different fields of vision. However, I've never used a clear visor...only the mirrored and a cage. Even with the disparity between looking through the visor and beneath it, it is still far better than a cage.

On a side note, I don't wear the thing to be flashy. I had an eye injury that left my pupil permanently dilated, and now I have to wear sunglasses pretty much all the time during the day if I'm outside or someplace bright. The mirrored visor has actually been a godsend for me.

It's to bad I hadn't thought to put a pair of sunglasses on under my visor in one of the last games of the season, could of at least given me an Idea.

From what you say its simply a tinted Visor with a mirror coating on it then, good to know.

I am not looking to buy it to be flashy either, I don't play seriously, me and a whole bunch of friends from the town I live in and one about 30 minutes get together every weekend during the winter to play. I simply enjoy trying new things.

I've had all three pro wave models. Clear, Tint, and Mirror. Mirror is about Twice as dark as the normal tint, but the normal tint isn't that tinted. But yeah, it's like a good pair of sunglasses. My rink is pretty bright (Used a superwhite paint this year BIG DIFFERENCE), and it really makes a difference using the mirror. My eyes are much more relaxed, rather than squinting and focusing to find the puck. As for the difference in looking down with the eyes, it's not That noticeable but I suppose if you have an eye injury such as that other guy, then doing so Might be irritating in a brighter arena. I really love the Mirror. Only one minor scratch through one season in 2 Leagues, and will be replaced with another when too fouled up to use. Hope this helps.

I have used both the tinted and blue Oakley visors. I like the blue one a lot better, it doesn't seem to dim your vision as much and actually makes objects sharper and clearer to me.

Yes that does help thank you.

As strange as this sounds my Current Oakley Yellow Visor was actually making things harder to see ( Its marketed as improving the lighting but at the same time cutting down on the glare ) .

Thanks davezilla for the Info on the Blue Visor, I may look into the blue one as I was finding I was loosing sight of the Puck with my Yellow Visor allot and if like you said the Blue Visor improved Clarity that might be nice.

I may end up buying both this coming season <_< .

Damn you hockey equipment, Damn you.

I hate having so many choices  .
