Blade Balance

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking of purchasing a v130 or v10.0 because they feel so incredibly balanced. Maybe it's just me, but the blade feels unbelievably light. Well I got to thinking, and i began to wonder what the result would be if I popped a v10.0 blade in my dolomite shaft. Perhaps I could get the same balanced feel?

Now I'm curious if anone has tried this or has used the v10.0 blade with any other shaft, and if anyone can compare this to using the v10.0 or v130 OPS. My main hope is to find if the balance holds true in its 2 piece form. I know this queston can be applied to many different OPS and their 2 piece counterparts, and I would be every interested to hear other peoples opinions on this topic.

from my personal experience, the light blade feels GREAT on the v10.0 in the store, but when you get on ice and start lettin em go, its alomst TOO light. its all personal but i believe that a little heavier blade will give you a touch more swing weight and increase volicity

Because of the 130's and 10.0's one piece construction, the 2 piece versions of the sticks will likely be a bit more blade-heavy because of the connection point/blade tenon.

For an idea of how the 10.0/8.0 blade will feel in your dolomite shaft, try comparing one to the blade that you currently use in your dolomite shaft to see whether the blade is lighter or heavier than your current blade. If you've got a Dolo 2 blade in there, you'll likely need to add an extension, which will make the blade feel even lighter when the stick is all put together.

I tried a v130... lighest stick i have ever used...not so durable.. the blade will disintergate in about 2 weeks... but for those 2 weeks you'll feel like your shooting with a rocket launcher.

Yes I am using a dolo blade actually, but so far i haven't been able to rind a v10.0 blade at any shops around me. I will keep looking though.

So you're saying the vector blade has a shorter hosel and ill need to add an extension to the top of the shaft? I think I might be a little confused.

Nope, you're not confused. You've hit it right on the button. Warrior Tapered blades have longer hosels than most other tapered blades, so if you use a different blade, you'll need to make up for the length.

^^^^ Totally ! Disintegration is the perfect word.

My blade is still in the process of disintegration. When i removed the tape from the blade the first time, all the paint peeled off with it. The second time, all the clear coat and also the material on the top of the blade. Now the toe has split and soon both the front and the back of the blade will peel apart like a banana.

I'm hoping it was a defective one cuz I'm tempted to get another or a V.10.

Just an FYI, I've never seen a 10.0 blade, but, I have an 8.0 and it has a long hosel. I doubt the warrior is much longer than this. So if you find an 8.0 in your pattern, you shouldn't need an extension.

JU87... YEA.. you explained step by step process.. 1st tape job.. the whole coat came off.... its not defective.. it's ccm not getting it right.

is the v130 the v10.0 ??

a stick that closest to a v130 is a RBK 7k Pro feel... that stick is just rediculous.

Ahh. I've only seen the 5.0 blades in person, and although it seems to have a longer hosel, I think it's because it was a rather tall blade.

shinedown, do you mean in rems of durability or construction? the 7k profeel is made with a completely different blade, but they do go soft rather quickly.

Acoording to CCM, the v130 got a few improvements and was called the 8.0
