Rink Rat Wheels

Recommended Posts

I am thinking about buying some rink rat Hot Shots (the red ones 76A I think).

I am using Kryptonics right now (hi lo 72mm 80mm and 74A), there ok but last time I played my buddy blew his wheel out and 30 seconds later so did I. I did get them replaced. What I really want to know is are they sticky enough to play on sport court so that they don't slide out from under you. I've read how there made with hard on the outside, soft on the indside.

Just some incite on your experiences with these wheels would be good, or other suggestions on other wheel choices.

and pls don't say sprung PLEASE

because i don't have the money

hot shots are made for indoor (sport court) surfaces. they shouldnt slide out at all unless you barely weigh anything and use the hardest hot shot you can find.

i would suggest the labeda dynasty or fuzion. I have been trying out the Red Star Scorpions since they were given to me as a gift and I was extremely suprised with how much they grip.

or.....

Sprung :)

ya I'm playing on sport court, I just find the ones I'm using now slide out.

Just thought better wheels may fix the problem, without buying sprungs.

i am like 170 and it's the red one so thats 76out/ 62 inside

funny thing my friends hornets cracked right in half in our game yesterday never seen anything like that, it must have been a defect in the wheel as the wheels were new and barley had any wear on them

I picked up bunch of red HotShots (and one silver one) to go on my TriDi setup (80-76-76-72). I weigh about 160lbs and I'll be playing on painted concrete this summer.

I've played one game with them so far and they seemed sticky enough but it was impossible to get a good read on them because the floor was ridiculously dusty.

i've found that grippers are the best for roll-on surfaces. I believe (i could be wrong) that they were originally designed for that specific surface.

ya man, I got grippers instead of rink rats.

I got X-Soft 72mm in the front

They are like Jello, they grip soooooooo GOOD

now I don't have any slip when I stride at all,

4 wheels for 27CAD isn't bad either

Are you talking about Millennium Grippers? I had a set of purple Millenniums that I used on sport court and they were great but they broke apart real fast on painted concrete. I'm going to stick with the Hotshots for a while because of all the good reviews they've gotten but the Millennium Grippers are my favorite wheel to date.

I think he is probably talking about the old Labeda Grippers, the white ones.

Is that is the case, yes, they are sticky at first but Rink Rat's are stickier for a longer period of time and if you take care of them, i.e. clean them after each use, then they should last a very very long time. Grippers do not last very long.

White/yellow grippers (solid) are good for concrete; our team had to practice at an outdoor rink once, despite the two nearby rinks, we went to the Outdoor one that was farther away and cost the same for rink time. I tried indoor Rink Rats and Hyper Trinity's, but the ol' grippers did the job better than both of them, and you don't have to tear up the nice Rink Rats. Solid colored wheels generally don't tear up as badly on cement as clear ones do.

I've been using Rink Rat Hornets since about 3 months before they were publicly releases, and let me tell ya... they've come along way.

Blew 3 wheels from my first set, called up Mike Hunt (Team RR Captain) and he sent me a newer set.... held up for about 3 months (playing 6-8 games/week)...

Durability has been improved, and the grip has always been tremendous.

I'd recommend 'em, for sure.
