chest protector

Recommended Posts

i now need a new chest protector. i have an old vaughn thats size medium and its small on me. i'm 5'11'' and have wider shoulders. i bought a size large tour aironic chest protector and i hate it. i dont even use it even though my vaughn leaves me unprotected because of size. i need a new one and was wondering what size i should get and if you know of an chest protectors that are extremely flexible while keeping you protected. I NEED A LOT OF MOVEMENT

What size you should get is going to depend on which C/A you end up getting. You may be better off going the custom route, from a company like Miller. Vaughn makes a good C/A so you could look at their velocity or epic lines. Mobility seems fairly good with either.

Personally, I use Brown and wouldn't use anything else except for one built by Glenn Miller. Glenn's C/A will be returning to market in the near future under the Vortek label.

If you can find a RBK xpulse10, they are extremely maneuverable, much more than the PII. I didn't even need any break-in time, and that's the first time in my 40yrs of playing goal of not having to break in a c/a.

i guess i'l look for the xpulse 10 on the internet. i dont feel like waiting for a custom piece of equipment. i have heard good things about the itech. anyone else? and i would really just like to know whether i should go medium or large. its a big deal because im kinda in between both and i really need a new CA. i have a medium and i feel it is too small, but i just dont know. i feel kinda dumb cause i been playin for 9 years and cant frieken tell

Well, I also used a Vaughn chest protector, and it was small on me just like you said yours was. I bought a McKenney 755 Pro-Lite chest protector and I love it, except for the fact that it feels really big compaired to my old Vaughn one. I still do use my Vaughn one in games just because I feel more comfortable in it, and I use my McKenney one in practices, and I will keep useing it in practice only until I get used to it. Also, I was going to buy the RBK Premier 2 chest protector but, it feels way to bulky and stiff and I personally hated it.

yeah, if you think the McKenney is bulky, you wouldn't know what to do with the Premier :P It's like a retail version of Garth Snow's C/A from a couple years ago when he looked like he had just came in from playing as a LAX goalie.
