mac23 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 What a choke job. I didn't watch the game, but it looks like they got beat pretty bad. They go 67-15 during the season, and they lose 4 of 6 to a team who was barely over .500 during the season. That's why you play the games.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Sports are so often about matchups. A can beat B, B can beat C, but C can beat A.I think I saw a statistic that, including the playoffs, the Warriors had beaten the Mavericks something like 10 out of 12 games, so obviously the Warriors have players who neutralize the strengths of the Mavs.

Don Nelson helped put together that team in Dallas and knew how to beat them. Dallas has so much talent that most of us could coach them to a winning season. You just roll the ball out there and let them go and that will give you 50 or so wins.

I only watched part of one game, but I saw an article that suggested Avery Johnson shouldn't have gone small to match Nellie.

When you get back at the other end, zone up and make them hit a high percentage of outside shots. A good coach prepares his team to win using multiple styles.
