kosydar 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 Do you mean why are college age guys allowed to play juniors? Probably because a lot of them don't go to college.
mastertuc 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 well I actually ment why is there another step in hockey. Form high school football to college football is one step. But in hockey you go forom youth mabey AAA hockey and from there to Jrs and from Jrs to college.
mack 44 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 Not necessarily. You could not even go to Jrs. and go to college but it's not that likely.

JR Boucicaut 3805 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 I think his question is why is there so many tiers.Different skill levels is the answer to that.
Veltri 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 Its basically how hockey has evolved. in division one hockey, its very rare to see a player come stright out of prep school hockey into a d1 program. you never see a player coming out of midget aaa hockey into d1. most players play a year or 2 of juniors after they graduate to get ready for d1, although it is very hard to make d1 hockey. most kids take the same route for d3 college hockey, but you will see a few more players coming out of school or midgets. MDE3 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2004 Actually it depends on which Junior League you are talking about....for years players went to juniors as they left college(if they still met the age limits) for some more seasoning....but it was a Major junior A league in Ontario or Quebec..and from there to a pro level team...usually minors. There is a big difference in Junior Leagues...
Veltri 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2004 well major junior is completely different, most players get in there before they graduate, although its risky unless you an nhl prospect. others get into major junior if they dont have the grades to play college hockey. if your playing major junior you need to know that you can at least play some sort of minor pro's at least.
