Pant Sizing

Recommended Posts

I'm in the market for pants; interested in a pair of Tackla 9000 Airs, to be exact. I've been to a bunch of stores in the area - most of which don't carry Tacklas at all. The stores that did have the pant I was looking for did not have anything smaller than a 48 in-stock...the 48 being a bit large on me.

One of the shops should be receiving a few pairs in size 46 soon, but I am also slightly interested in the Jr. size 180. Both are listed as fitting a 29"-30/31" waist (my background: about 5'11" 165 pounds, 29"/30" waist). I'm not going to buy a pair of pants before trying them on, but, at the same time, I don't want to waste the store's time by requesting that they order pants in a size that ultimately isn't even close to what I need.

I'll get to it now: does anybody here know of any/the major differences in the fit between the two sizes in question? If I can't get access to a 180, I would like to have an idea as to how they compare to the 46s while I'm looking at/trying on the Sr. pant.

Thanks, boys.

IMO, i would wait for the seior 46's that are being ordered in... junior pants tend to be more bulky and not as lengthy as a senior pant, so most likely the junior pant will not ver your thighs/knees completely...

Oh, I'm waiting for sure. Like I said, I refuse to buy a pair of pants without first trying them on. I just want to be able to consider the difference(s) in fit between the 180s and the 46s while wearing the Sr. pant.

Thanks for the input.

I'm about your size (5'10", 145lbs, 30"-ish waist) and I have tried the Jr 180 size before. The waist fit fine and the leg length might've been a tad bit short. The problem was that the diameter of the legs seemed to be too small and tight. They still felt pretty good though coming from CCM 692 which felt like a sack of bricks afterwards.

Please let me know how the small senior size feels if you try them.

For Your Information:

I would suggest instead of the 9000 AIR from the US (actually Thailand), go with the 9000 ACS from Canada. I have worn both, and they are TOTALLY different. The ACS is a higher quality pant...much like the 5000 pros I used to wear. Most of the Canadian stores sell them, as they are not available in the US. I bought mine from www.thehockeyshop.com . I certainly do not work or receive any payments from them to promote their stuff, but they have the 9000 ACS in -2 , regular, and +2 lengths...the only store that carries the special sizing in stock from what I have seen. So, you can get a 46 in the length you will need. It is worth the extra money in my opinion. These pants are top quality.
