Under armor socks.

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about buying some under armor socks. How do they work and how long do they last? I searched and I could only find that 1 person said they liked them. Does anyone else use any? If so how do you like them? On the under armor sight when purchasing them it asks for a size, and I don't know my size in socks. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have 2 pair of them. I like them. I've had the Bauer ones as well but UA seems softer. I got a size L--I wear a 12 athletic shoe. BTW, I take mine out of the wash before the rinse cycle (when you put in fabric softener) as I believe fabric softener wears down the performance of the sock--same as Nike's Dri-fit, etc.

I use the Under Armour team liners. They are awesome. Durability is a little sketchy considering the cost of the socks but other than that, they do just what they're supposed to do and feel great.

I bought the Under Armour socks in April, used them once(no ice here during the summer time) but I use them when I roller blade, they are real good, they get the sweat out and form your feet perfectly.

May I suggest OxySox...

I've been wearing ONE pair of socks since January.

Hey JR, what are oxy socks, and where do I buy them. How much do they cost. Anymore info would be nice, thanks.

well I just did some searching and I found some stuff out on them. The website for the is http://www.oxysox.com/media.htm

They seem to be quite a bit of money though? I also found some different socks that goalieheaven is selling on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MEWA:IT

Them seem to be pretty nice, and there a lot cheaper too, I could get 3-4 pairs for the price of one pair of oxysocks.

buy the under armor socks. they feel good in my skates and I've been using the same pair since last October and they are holding up fine (I wash them once a week). Im 5'7" and I just bought the Large and they go past my knee but I just fold them down. They're nice skating socks though.

i prefer no socks at all...i find all they do for me is just soak up water. i never tried any of the hockey socks tho, like nike or bauer, just normal ones. that may of affected them or something, but i dunno. i just love bare feet now

They're worth it. I skated bare all my life...tried these and I'll never go back.

A friend of mine is trying to get me a box. Stay tuned.

I have both Oxy Socks and UA socks. The Oxy Socks seem to breath a little more than the Under Armour socks....but i sitll have a hard time justifying the extra 5 bucks or whatever the diff is for SOCKS!

that's cool. I have a rep like that.....however it's not my ccm rep. Which is really too bad because i'm in love with the vector pro skates and i cant justify buying them with 3 pairs of skates less than a year old.

sorry got way off topic there..... so um, yeah socks..... carry on.

It's the same sock, yes.

The ones I have are not branded CCM however.

Damn, I didn't know they were actually the same sock.

Actually, he's not a hockey rep. He sells shoes. He's a guy who plays at the rink.

I have had a pair of UA socks for about 4 months now. I have had no problems with them breaking down and I never wash them. I just wear them and then take them out of my bag to dry. I originally bought the socks to help me get past the blistering break-in period of my skates, but now that I have gotten used to them I wear them all the time. I just recommend doing a little surgery on your skates for more ventilation/drainage if you are going to wear them since the material will just leave your boots full of sweat.

Not going to comment on re-using them after skating and not washing them (ugh)but I don't have any problem with skates being wet. These Dri-fit type fabrics have super high absorbency and take in the moisture as opposed to getting on your skin or skates---that is the whole concept of it.

You're that guy that no one wants to sit next to in the change room right?
