Graf to RBK sizing info pls

Recommended Posts

Just called a LHS to see if they had a pair of RBK 9K's in stock in a size 11(my son currently wears 11R Graf G5 Ultra)They did not, but told me that he would actually wear a 10.5 RBK which they did have.Truth or hoping to sell what they have? He wears a 13-13.5 street shoe.

I'm a 9.5 Nike running shoe, and I wear a RBK 7.5 skate... I go 2 sizes down, but I can't say 100% your son should (3 sizes sounds kinda drastic...). I also have feet like Fred Flintstone.

I think it all depends on the individual skate. I wear a 9 or 9.5 shoe, a size 7 easton was a tad large, a size 7 bauer supreme was perfect, and a size 6.5 CCM tack fits very well. So 2.5 sizes down is possible, but I don't really know anything about how graf's fit in that particular model. So, I wouldn't buy without trying them on first...its a lot of money to risk.

I was actually just deciding whether to go with a pair of RBK or Graf. I tried on the 9K and Ultra G5 just the other day. To get down to the sizing matter I was a 7.5 R in the Grafs and a 7D in the RBKs. Fitwise the two skates felt identical, almost exactly the same length and width throughout. It was a toss up which skate felt better, the only major difference was the high vs. low cut boot.

From what I've heard and my experience trying both these skates on the other day I would definitely say the RBK should be a 1/2 size smaller than the Graf.

Why not just take him down to the LHS and try them on he'll know whether or not they're too small...just for my 2 cents I wear an 11.5 nike shoe and wear sz 8 8090's

i will take him but the problem is,rarely will the stores stock size 11 skates (for comparisons sake). They oblige you to order the skate which of course means you have to buy it.When you have big feet, you don't usually get to try on a variety of skates.I guess montrealer's have smaller feet because my son goes through hell every time he needs skates. He is obliged to wear CCM or Reebok and I would like him to be able to try on a couple of models before he buys-a resonable request you would think, but always a problem here!

I can see how that would cause some trouble. I know that we don't usually stock many models of high-end skates that big because so few people have feet that large but I'm also in a much smaller hockey community. It's suprising to hear that you have that trouble in Montreal

I shouldn't say it's a problem here because it seems to be a problem in Boston as well.Shoes are more of a problem here though.Size 13 is not readily available in many models so when we go to the States we stock up.

They recommended and have the 10.5 in stock, so go down and have him try it on. If it's a bit too small you know he'll need an 11.

Don't go by street shoe size, because everything varies and nothing is a definitive starting point. I'm a 9.5-10 in street shoes. I was assuming I'd be wearing an 8-8.5 in most skates...not so. Like I already said, 7 in RBK 9K, 7.5 in Graf Ultra G5. Don't be surprised that the LHS may be correct. I know I was shocked when a 7.5 was comfortable, let alone a 7.

Similiar question to previous, but with a wrinkle...I wear 9.5W in RBK. Any idea what that is in Graf 9 series? My LHS is out of 9-10.5 Graf...

Thanks

That is what I will have to do but it's kind of nice to be able to try both on at the same time. Sometimes you can be a bit unsure and trying one after the other eliminated the doubt.Oh well, that's life for the big footed skater I guess.
