blade from broken ops

Recommended Posts

i have an old synergy that snapped in the middle

i was wondering if it was possible to cut a little bit at the fuse point and heat the blade to pull it out and use it in another standard shaft

I believe that people have pulled fused blades out of eastons but they damaged the shaft because it took a lot of heat to do it... Shouldn't bother you and it's worth a shot.

I did it with an SL. you are only going to get one or the other when trying to remove a blade/convert a shaft. Cut vertically along the shaft by the tenon and use a chisel and be patient...and heating it doesnt melt the epoxy they use, but rather it makes it brittle...dont try heating it up until it melts.

It usually doesn't work, but sometimes it does, you would be better off grinding layer by layer until you get it paper thin (not the hosel but the shaft), then you chisel what left of it off. if you really want the blade i would recommend chiseling not heating but its all up to you. If you want more info on how to do it just PM me.
