Vapor XXV Skates

Recommended Posts

1. Does the vapor XXV skate have the hydrophobic liner like the XXXX's?

2. Has anyone skated in these and if so how did they feel?

thanks

The XXV has what is called "quick-dry gripliner" which is different then the xxxx hydrophobic liner. Also the tongue in the XXV is felt with an insert to the outside. The XXXX has a different material then the felt.

I looked at S11's, Mission 100's and 110's, supreme 70's, and Reebok 7k's. I just got my XXV's the other day and have skated in them three times and baked them once. They are pretty stiff although according to a few skate salesman that use the XXXX are not as stiff as the XXXX. I am really pleased with mine and they are at a great price right now. ($269 USD) I'm coming from some Graf 625's so am adjusting to the slightly different Tuuk holder but each time out I'm more and more impressed. Comfortable (no blisters), seem to have a whole lot more jump to them, great control, steel seems stronger than my Grafs, light (size 7.5 SR weighs 805 grams) If they fit your foot they are a definitely a good deal. And from what I read the durability is better than the previous line of vapors.

Actually the XXV does not have the quick dry. It shows that in the catalog, but when it shipped it was a liner closer to the Flexlite 10. I am not sure of the name, but it is kind of like a downgraded clarino. I think the liner is an upgrade from the quick dry

I saw the XXV's the other day at Sports Experts and they are a nice skate. A bit more reasonable in price than the XXXX's but still a decent ice skate.
