7K pump VS 9K pump

Recommended Posts

Is it worth an extra 75$ to upgrade to the 9K pumps? Im on the ice 3-5 times a week from September to February, 1-3 the rest of the time.

The 7K's are a bit heavier than the 9K's but essentially the same skate. If you think it's something you can deal with performance-wise then get the 7's and save your cash. Both will give you good durability.

I actually own both, due to a sizing issue... if I could do the whole scenario all over again, I would go with the 7K's in the proper size. I for one could use the $75 in my pocket.

9 K's just because there is such a little difference in price between the top of the line and one step down. The 9K is a tad lighter and more stiff. Quarter's look better on the 9K as well IMO. If you have the extra money go for it.

For me, as long the skate is comfortable, durable and not overly heavy as you're skating with rocks. That way, I save a ton of money. I'd probably even settle with the 5k.

My last skate, I chose Vector 3.0 over the 6.0.

There's barely a difference, and the 6.0 was way more expensive.

While I understand what you are saying, be careful with the 5k.....when compared to the 9k, it's a lot less stiff. There are other threads about this.
