Small Hornets

Recommended Posts

We have a small room attached to our office here at work which used to be part of an old shipping bay. I was in there this morning looking for some papers, and I found a couple little wasps or hornets just sitting on the wall. Does anyone know any good indoor sprays, or even what kind of wasps might be common to find indoors, and way to get rid of them? For some reason because I found them, I was elected to get rid of them, although I am scared shitless of bees.

They are only about 1/2 inch long,, completely black with three very thin yellow/white stripes

gotta find the hive/nest and torch it.

Torching it may not be the best idea for an office, but definitly try to find the nest. Of course, they may be outdoor hornets that followed someone inside. I forget the brand, but homedepot/walmart/Canadian Tire/Lowes should have something like "bugBomb" or whatever it's called- it has about a 25-30 foot range and drops them quick. It's also highly flamable ;) should you get to use it outside...

check all door jams and window jams, i helped my step dad with consturction last year and every demolition we helped with and there were bees involved they seemed to nest in there, if you can find the nest spray with an indoor version of raid 3 or 4 good coats and then get away from the area, try to create an exit for the bees to the outside and BE SURE to close off all acess to the office. if you can not find indoor spray that works, use out door spray, be sure to ventilate the area as well as possible, and then keep the area off limits to humans for a good 10-12 hours.

You'd want to be careful with wasps and hornets. They can sting you multiple times... set two of my buds in hospital when they had allergic reactions to the stings.

They found it this morning, plant manager had some personal shit in the crawl space above the office, toward the end over the room we were finding them in, there was a ton of them on the wall, floor and ceiling. There is a gap in the wall with a nest inside. They sprayed it and killed a majority. Thank god I don't have to screw with it anymore.
