BobMcRobertson 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 Has anybody tried these in thier skates? They are heat moldable footbeds. I picked up the pair that are made for skates and gave them a try...only skated in them once for about an hour and a half, most of which I felt as if there were screws being driven slowly into my arch's. My feet were sore for about 4 hours after and I had cramps in my feet last night. If anyone else has tried these, what have you experienced?http://www2.yoursole.com/home

BobMcRobertson 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 I know, I should have done a search. Not much detail on feedback for the SOLE though, oh well........
Hockeydog 8 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 I have a pair of Sole footbeds, but not the Slim series since on of the LHS in my area didn't carry them (??). They give good arch support and do mold to the feet okay. I couldn't use them because they were not the type for skates. It may take a few times to get your feet used to the extra arch support, it's not unusual to feel some pain. Did you get the insoles for arch support?
BobMcRobertson 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 Yeah, I got'em for the arch support primarily. They felt great during the fitting process and just standing around in them, but boy, as soon as I hit the ice I was in agony.
tsanga 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 I once had a discussion with a physical therapist (or maybe it was a podiatrist...it was some time ago, my memory fails me) and this is basically what he said was the difference between SOLE and Superfeet. (This is in the case of flat feet that tend to pronate quite a bit).Superfeet have semi-rigid plastic support underneath to resist the pronation and hold your arch up. Their website (FAQ section) essentially spells this out - their products are primarily designed for overpronators.SOLE inserts are heat molded by you when you step on them after warming them up. Well guess what...when you put your weight on your foot to mold them when they're soft, your pronating foot will flatten the insole and mold them that way. Now where's the support coming from? Having an insole molded in the shape of your weight bearing foot is a conceptually good idea, but only if your foot isn't the type that needs rigid support to keep it from pronating beyond its neutral position. So which one is better? Depends on your foot type. For me (low flat arch), definitely Superfeet.
wonderenzo 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 superfeet are designed for supporting your feet. If you underpronate or supinate they recomend a custom foot bed by a pediatrist. sole's (have heard from some large canadian retailers) are eh when not heated, but crap when heated. Hockeydog 8 Report post Posted June 12, 2007 Since mine never fit inside my skates I used them in sneakers. they are not bad for that, the arch support could be just that of my shoes.
