goalie wheels

Recommended Posts

I have the Hyper Pros, which came with the NBH skates. The durability is ok, but with the square-ish shape, it essentially has two "edges". You'll only wear out the inside edge, so you can flip it around to kinda double the life of the wheel.

Overall, it's an OK wheel, but I only went with it because it came with the bauer skates :P

yea i have the hyper pros they did wear out kind of fast ...i have the wheels for the same reason B).I was reading about the labeda patriots and it says.. The Labeda Patriot Goalie wheel offers goalies the ability to either shuffle across the crease or stack their pads in a split second with ease! With 2 very different profiles the Patriot gives goaltenders the edge they're looking for

the part that really got me interested in these wheels is the part were it says it gives u the ability to shuffle

I don't think your supposed to even be able to shulffe in roller. I guess maybe

a) it's not true

b ) the wheels have no grip whatsoever and you can slide across the crease, leading to possibly zero durability wheels and/or crap all over the crease

c) they mean t-pushing

Also, how would a different wheel shape make pad-stacking easier?

I also hope that the durability is good on the wheels, because you can't "flip" them like I did with the Hyper Pros, and they also come with the tour goalie skates (the better model).

for what it means to anyone, working in the sales field i have only sold the labeda goalie wheels, and ive heard horror stories from a few goalies about the rink rats. im not a goalie, so i have no bias as to what wheel is better but from a second hand perspective then more popular wheel seems the be the labeda wheel.

how would that not be true? its reviews from previous customers who have actual experience with a product that they have used. not some kid looking at discriptions from the manufacturer which is clearly going to be biased twords the product that they are marketing. i have 2 years of retail sales, and one year of retail management, im telling you what consumers have said, that should be something you take into account, not a simple product description published by a manufactuer.

Probably because they are round unlike the other square wheels that give you an "edge" as some people have said

I've used both the labeda patriot goalie wheels as well as grim reaper wheels.

The thing about the patriot wheels that are great is how much easier it is to set yourself on your edge. The grim reaper ones slid out on me a lot. With the patriot i can get set in my butterfly stance and move and more or less walk across on the insides of the wheels and keep stance fairly well. I like the wheels a lot.

The grim reapers i used were also 86 and patriots 82. I didn't feel like i got a great amount of grip with the patriots, but i still like them a lot. I've been using the patriots for a month or so both outdoor and indoor on sportcourt roughly 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes 5 times a week even and they don't any wear other than dust really.

From what i've heard about the crossbars is that they perform great, but chunk and die very very quickly.
