My friend who is in single A was going to get new skates and he asked me to help him. he currently wears bauers. So i decided to share this with you so when i go to the lhs with him i can help him choose the right one not too expennsive nor cheap. The games in single A gets more intense and he wants to get ready.

i heard those ones with the rocket boosters will make him go a lot faster, most of the kids i know who play in single A use them.

but in all seriousness, he needs to just try em on and see what he likes best, its not much more complicated than that, no big mysteries to skate buying, if it fits and its in your price range, go for it.

Shifter, your queston is a lot like, "What kind of car should I buy?"

The answer is depends.

Do a search for skate fitting and you'll find lots of helpful tips on how to ensure your buddy gets something that fits properly. That's the main thing.

Not long ago I was getting my skates sharpened in my local hockey store and I watched a Dad tell his kid he could get any skate he wanted, then Dad put a blindfold on the kid and they started trying a bunch on. When the kid found the ones that are most comfortable the blindfold came off.

Brilliant!

wow that really is a pretty smart idea, and it proves that its more important to get a really good fitting skate than one that costs alot more and doesnt fit right. like mentioned above it really depends on what fits him best, when you go to your LHS just try on skates and see what feels nice
