Graf Skates

Recommended Posts

I did a search but came up fairly unsuccessful. I was wondering what the difference was between Graf Skates in the 700 Seriese and the G seriese. I am debating between 2 pairs of skates, and I was wondering if one was more durable, or what the difference was. Both fit my foot great, so if one was more durable that would be an easy pick. It was a pair of 707's and a pair from the G seriese. I don't remember the exact model, but it wasn't an Ultra G, just a G.....maybe G3. Both pairs were Pro returns.

Thanks,

Daniel

Those two skates, in retail models, don't fit alike at all. In all honesty, comparing pro return skates (or any custom skates) is a bad idea. G series are slightly lighter and slightly stiffer out of the box.

I dont remember if it was G3's, I just remember at some point I tried on a pair. Thanks for the info about Pro Returns, really what I'm wondering is if one will last me longer or perform better for a longer period of time. But it sounds like I'll just have to let time tell.

The 7 series are built like tanks. They've been around for years and are still popular. The G series is a few years old and is lighter and a tad stiffer. Durability shouldn't be a problem with either skate, but if you're looking for longevity (you want these to last for years) go with the 7 series. Fit-wise 703 is to G3 and Ultra G3, 705 is to G5 and Ultra G5, 707 is to G7 and ultra G7, etc.

I concur. I'd go with the 700 series skates. The G series haven't been around long enough to evaluate their durability over a longer period of time. If in doubt go with what's tested and true is my motto.
