Rink Rat wheel exploded

sorry to bug you guys but i was wondering if this wheel was in any way under warranty cause my LHS said there was none. <_< i've had many sets of rink rats before but i've never had a wheel do this but i have heard of other people who have though.

ive never seen rink rats do that untill now... though i have heard of it... ive seen labeda grippers do that many times hence why i wont use them...... i love my rink rats :)

I highly doubt that his camera phone has a macro mode. Not too many do.

In a span of about 10 skates or so that happened to a greater degree on the same wheel on my friend's skate 3 times while he was using grippers.

Sorry, that wasn't helpful. Maybe you could ask Mike Hunt from Mearthane on MSH here? I remember there was a thread where he was really helpful when it came to wheels dying much too prematurely. I think his screenname was RINK RAT 15

Yes, but Mike is probably busy as July/August are full of national tournaments.

I am here in Detroit at Torhs and I will be off to Flroida for Narch later in the week!

Looking at that wheel I would say that it will be tough to skate on it! Did you see that big hole????

All kidding aside, Please send Dan Reilly an email stating the problem and he will send out replacements from our head office! I would handle it but I am out of the office until August!

Mike is a great rep and we are lucky to have someone so loyal to his customers. I recently contacted him about getting wheels replaced and while he was out of the country for a while once he got back, he sent them to me right away.

Speak of the devil. Mike posts minutes after Kovalchuk posted. Would not hesitate to recommend RR to my friends if they're getting new wheels.

Yes I do agree RR has great customer service and Mike is quickly to respond however I posted back in December when I got the wicked 1's and the hub cracked on the mb816 and have not yet received any replacment wheel even after given the other contact person as he was busy with tournaments at that time.

From time to time somebody is going to slip through the cracks! We of course never want this to happen but we live in the real world and its gonna happen!

I've developed air bubbles in all my wheels, what can i do?

i just bought a set of Tournament 84 stiffness RR's. I was surprised to see an air bubble here and there in a few them. they seem to grip well, but im curious if that air bubble causes some inconsistancies when turning and might help in the wheel tear like that...

yeah thats common in RR's. but i dont think ive ever had a pair of RR's that havnt exploded,imploded or whatever. but i still love the mand ill keep buying them!

I just blew out 2 rink rat wheels in the last two weeks-both mb 816's-both front wheels. 62/76a's. I am calling them today-I am starting to lose faith in rink rats-hopefully it will not be another genesis wheel situation....

do you have pics? you can't just call them up looking for free wheels unless you can prove that your wheels broke.

E-mailed them today with pics-they said they are going to hook me up-not looking for any charity bro-just wheels that work!
