At hockey and skate outlet it says that you can fine tune the flex of Graf 709. What does that really mean? Can you add pads to them or something?

The first-generation Graf 709 had the Vario-Flex. They had sleeves in the ankle and you can slide in stiffeners or remove them.

The one out there DOES NOT have the Vario-Flex.
