trox_355 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2007 Wal-Mart (at least around here) sells a kit of abrasives to restore plastic headlight lenses. It worked well on my car, but can't vouch for visors. You also might want to search for some product made specifically for resurfacing polycarbonate. Some other people here seem to use toothpaste with some luck. DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2007 If it's an Oakley, I wouldn't touch it for fear of crystallization. It may be possible with an Itech. Along the same lines as trox's idea, regular compound for car finishes does wonders for headlights as well, might be worth a shot if you can't find the headlight-specific refresher kit. Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted July 11, 2007 Try Brasso - it works wonders on scratched-up iPods, both on the metal back and the screen.Just start with very small amounts, and use it carefully - violently poisonous stuff.

mdamson 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 Polishing plastics, especially those for use in vision type applications can be tricky. First of all they will be using polycarbonate, which is a difficult plastic to remove scratches from. Secondly, many vision applications use vapor deposited hardcoats which can be scratched off using polishes. If the scratches really bother you, and you aren't worried about the hardcoats, Novus #2 plastic polish is a fine product for removing scratches in polycarbonate. It is available here Novus #2 However, I will warn you again that you may damage any hardcoats if you remove the scratches.
