RBK SicKick Shaft

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Last night I broke my pro stock 7v Sickick 10.0. :( Not a durability issue.. Blade got caught between the boards. I love the curve and the lie is perfect.

I'm thinking of buying a sickick shaft and custom tapered blades. I know there are different sickicks out there- 7k, 7v, 7v*, how different could I expect the combo to be from the ops?

Has anyone used the shaft? How do you like it?

I would just buy another ops, but I can't find another one. It's Kris Beech's from the Washington Capitals. If anyone knows where I could find one please let me know.

If only RBK would make a custom stick just for me...

Thanks in advance.

I bought an 85 flex 7k shaft. Thought I would like it because I like my 130V shaft, but the 7k had the T square shape which I thought I would like. I rushed out to get another shaft in about 2 weeks. I don't even think I used it for one complete game.

1) It's not that light.

2) IMO, the square shape is too big and bulky. I'm not a big guy, but I just didn't feel like it fit my hands too well.

3) There was nothing Sick about it's kick. It might have been better for me in a lower flex.

I went to my LHS and was talking to DarkStar about my complaints. He had some 75 flex (not sure if they considered intermediates) OPS, and the shape felt much less boxy.

I'll sell you mine for a good price. Barely used, cut to 48 inches.

What flex was your old 130 shaft? Did you have to cut the same amount off that as well? The mid-flex RBK/CCM's count as Intermediate, but I can't tell the difference in size (I'll borrow some calipers to check sometime), but the main difference is that they begin life 53" long, instead of 56" like SR ones, so you would only have to cut 5" instead of 8", making it somewhere around 94 flex instead of 119.

hmm, its not the best angle, but it looks sakic-ish. It knda looks like a mix between the retail Bergeron and retail Sakic. I dont think the 7K SicKick shaft would be too close to your previous stick. I had the shaft and was very disappointed. I agree with #96 when I say there was nothing sick about its kick

The V130 was a Mid Flex, so I'm guessing 70ish? It does not have intermediate dimensions though. Round shape, but not smaller than the senior size. I don't know the orginal length because I bought it used and only had to cut a little off of what was already cut.

If I get a chance I'll got to DarkStar's shop and compare.
