DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 Im building a few computers for a guy, and I have to admit, I dont know much about what needs to be done for a backing these things up. I manually back my machines up with an external drive, but he wants to back up automatically on an external drive. So my question is, is there a software for this that works best? How about the 'one touch' hard drives that Ive heard about? I know he doesnt have alot to backup, no more than 100 gigs, so it doesnt have to be some super system. Thanks, Zach
Vapor 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 1 touch does a great job for backup. Get a Maxtor 1 touch drive and he will be fine, they are pretty cheap

DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted August 27, 2007 I have some more questions. Apprantly the guy has alot of contact information in outlook, which is all now on his old computer. Is there a way to A make office run off of his old harddrive (says I need to run the installer for the machine) or B figure out which fold outlook was keeping all of that in and just put it in a folder with a fresh copy of office. Also, on another front, on his old drive some files seem to be blocked from me using them, like they are protected. The file and folder names are blue instead of black. Does anyone know how to work around this? I tried sharing the folders, but none of it seemed to work. Any help and advice is appreciated. ZachBTW Vapor, those drives are pretty sweet, thanks for the reccomendation.
