it sucks. i know two people who have it and hate it. plus just last week the cell phone guy told me it was really bad. i went with the sony ericsson. probably the best cell phone on the market right now.

My girlfriend has the pink (strawberry) one and she LOVES it. I had to use it the other night to call one of my friends when we were hanging out because my phone died and I couldn't stand the damn thing after using it for 5 seconds. The Pro I guess is that you can set the sensitivity of the wheel and buttons but damn, I could barely use the thing for shit. I have to admit though, the new one's that just came out especially the blue one have caught my eye.

Also, depends on what you're looking for: regular flip phone or PDA style.

All I would tell you is to go to whatever store you have service with and play around with the phones they have and go from there. The only way you're going to find the phone that will work best for you is if you actually mess around with them firsthand.

I've always had good luck with my Ericsson and Sony-Ericsson phones.

I just got one of the new LG VX 8550 Chocolates 2 weeks ago as my "new every 2" with Verizon. I got the blue one.

It is an improvement over the first chocolate because the "wheel" actually rotates and clicks. It isn't touch sensitive anymore. There are 4 touch keys, but they have vibration feedback so you can tell when you've pressed one.

I did put the insurance on it after the fist one broke on the second day while in my pocket. I pulled it out to answer a call and the screen was cracked. Verizon replaced it for me without a hassle. I also picked up one of those femmy little "socks" to keep the screen covered.

I like it because it is fully capable of playing music like the iphone, and I don't have to be a pretentious apple user. However, I think having the main screen of a phone exposed to the elements is a bit of a gamble.

I was also wondering if you have had any finger print issues. I have a first gen black i pod nano and all finger prints and every little scratch really shows

I also have a first gen black ipod and would say the fingerprints show up about the same on the chocolate, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker in my opinion. I haven't had a scratch show up yet, but I am keeping it covered when not in use.

I personally had the Razr a while ago and right now I have the Chocolate. And I liked the Razr alot more. The buttons on the Chocolate are too small for manly hands and you sometimes press on 2 buttons at ones. On the top panel the buttons are too sensitive even if you put the less sensitive option on. As for now my Chocolate didn`t shut off by itself (like my Razr did) but I liked the control panel and the navigation system of the Razr alot more, even if it was made cheaper and died 3 months before my contract ended an had to pay Rogers 100$ because my phone died (Long story).

Anything with a glossy finish is going to attrack finger prints. The Chocolate is nice, but the interface kinda blows. LG just does not make good software for their phones. If your going to go with a chocolate, go with the black label. 18K gold = more gooder.

*its GSM tho...

Just a heads up, my girlfriend has the redish-pink Chocolate on Bell Mobility and I don't know if it's the phones problem or the network but it is very difficult to understand what is being said on it. (This is if she calls me on her phone, for instance.)

Well it always depends on with who you are gonna take your service and what kind of phone they have. Rogers have good phones but probably the worst costumer service in Canada. Personally I went with Telus and I'm pretty happy with the service I am getting so far and the reception is amazing also (but Telus are using Aliant antennas in Atlantic Canada).

Then I say maybe go with the new Samsung SPH-M620 or maybe the Moto KRZR. The flip Chocolate and the slide are mostly the same, except for some little buttons here and there.

yeha my gf has the chocolate phone, it gklitches alot... the touch buttons think your touching it sometimes and the whole menu screen starts freaking out. and she has a hard time with the touch buttons in cold weather as well. Right now i have the krzr and imo it is hands down the better phone. Its not much differnt than the razr though aside from mp3 playback and size.

I currently have a Sanyo Katana, I was going to get another razor but im pretty rough with my phones and my first lasted me about 2 months. I've had this sanyo since may and it is an absolute tank. I even dunked it underwater for a very long time and it's still held up. Plus the buttons aren't awful like the Razr or Krzr. I can actually dial.

I returned my chocolate today because it stopped sliding correctly. I went with the krazr this time. I was 0 for 2 with the chocolate and withdraw my earlier support for it.

i agree the chocolate's alright but the interface sucks and the camera kinda sucks too, the video quality is just terrible. overall it's okay, i don't mind the buttons.

i'd go with the krazr over the chocolate though like zingbergeur
