Peter Leblanc played at a drop in one night that I was at. I can only imagine how the really high draft picks must look...'cause he's a 6th or 7th rounder and he was awesome to watch.

I might actually go over tonight for an hour since I'm just down the street. It would be fun to watch. My friend is a huge Bieksa fan, because Kevin's from around here, so he'll be excited.

I stumbled upon a similar type of session at an ice facility outside Vancouver last summer (8-rinks for those familiar with this area). I couldn't recognize most of the players, but the match was outstanding.

It was a real mix of some retired vets like Cliff Ronning, along with WHL players like Dustin Slade of the Vancouver Giants (at that time).

Some players were wearing US college jerseys and a couple more had logos on thier pants and socks which told me they played European pro. Brandan Reid and Jason King were there as well.

Pick up among the pros -- very cool!

Alot of them were at doing morning skates last summer at Double Dumps as well. I knew most of them were there, but didn't know about Bieksa.

I caught parts of both games last night. Very fast. Bieksa looked like he could just take over if he wanted to, but was playing it easy. He made a few rushes that looked awesome though. Deke at the blue line...stepped around a another guy...roof it!

I didn't recognize many other players, but there were quite a few guys wearing NCAA gear...Ohio State, Maine.

I didn't see much of McGratton, because I was getting ready for our skate...

Bieksa and McGratton both hung around and did pictures/autographs for the kids...so that was cool.
