TPS flex question

Recommended Posts

I eventually want to get a new shaft/stick (TPS). I want to keep it around a 70-75 flex, but the senior whip flex shaft is 55" long and the intermediate is 51" long which are both to long for me so if i went with the whip flex and cut it it would be way too stiff. Should i go with the intermediate cut it and stick a short butt end into it to add some flex?

I recently bought a reg. flex TPS off of an MSHer and I can say that they do feel much whippier than labelled. The flex chart says a reg. TPS should be around an Easton 95, but mine felt like an 85-90.

I also believe that some brands' int. sticks are a bit narrower than their seniors. Not sure if this is the case for TPS.

TPS sticks tend to break in more than most sticks but the newer models also seem to be a little stiffer than advertised.

My int R2XN10 was a good shaft for about 3 ice times. Then it broke in a bit and felt as whippy as a 50 flex, I had to pass it on to a friend because I couldn't get any power off slapshots. I'd go with the Whip if I were you, but its all up to you.

Why would you cut the intermediate stick down and then add a small butt end to add some flex. Just don't cut it down as far and put in a flush butt end.
