RbK 9K vs. CCM Vector 10.0

Recommended Posts

Hey.

I'm getting new skates, but i can't decide what to go with.

It have to be CCM or RbK, so please don't come with other suggestions.

The price dosen't matter.

My old skate was the Bauer Vapor XXX.

But I can't decide between the RbK 9K And CCM Vector 10.0

Anyone tried both, or know whats best?

And is there any different between the white 9K and black?

And same thing with the normal Vector and the Ovechkin model.

I also heard about a new RbK/CCM skate, but does anyone have an idea about then it will arrive?

Thanks

The white 9K and the regular 9K will have the same fit. Both the Vector 10.0 and the Ovechkin style vectors will have the same fit.

You should go with the skate that fits your foot properly. The RBKs will be a bit wider, especially in the heel. Are you sure that a CCM/RBK skate will work for you? If Vapor XXXs fit you well, then the Vectors and the 9Ks might not fit correctly. Go to your LHS and try both skates on.

I just came off of a pair of Vector 8.0's (Christmas present) and into a pair of RBK 7K's. I had constant pinching in my forefoot area and a loose heel pocket in the Vectors, but the RBK's fit me perfectly. Make sure that you try them on first, and be certain that you have complete heel lock in one of them. Which ever one locks in your heel better is the skate that you should get.

I own both the RBK 9K White and CCM Vector 10.0 SE they're both a great skate but I prefer the Vectors because I think they're lighter then the 9K and they give me maximum energy transfer in each stride.

I suspect coming from Vapors the Vectors will probably be a better fit for you as already mentioned. The 9K is a wider skate in the midfoot and heel and may feel somewhat sloppy.
