Brad Paisley's Bonfire's and Amplifier's Tour

Recommended Posts

Did any of you boys go to this..

I went to the one in Toronto, and man it was dirty.

Taylor Swift opened. Fuck, is she ever hot. Then Rodney Atkins, got everyone pumped up. Then Paisley stole the show. Good mix of new and older stuff. Plus, he did a two song encore. I'm Gonna Miss Her, and a cover of Folsom Prison Blues. Fuck, I'm still rialed up the next day, even after the amount of alcohol that was consumed.

Anyone there, thoughts?

I was there. Great show!!!!!!! I was impressed by a few things.

1. How many people were there for the opening acts. I guess the days of tag along opening acts that no one cares about are long gone. The place was FULL for all 3.

2. How loud the crowd was. My concert going has been seriously cut back from a few years ago...but that was the loudest crowd I've heard at any show (Country or otherwise).

3. The number of cowboy hats in the crowd. If country is a dying format (as some would have you believe) yesterday was no indication.

4. Brad's show was AWESOME. I've seen a him a few times, and he's always been a GREAT player, and solid singer, but his addition of the screens/video and stuff has turned him into an real Entertainer as well.

Yes, Taylor is damn hot. Were you the guy running around with the "Taylor, Are You Single" sign on a Big red heart *L*

October 13th, Floor seats, Cost me an arm and a leg too.

I seen Rodney at Countryfest this year and he put on a hell of a show, even if I only saw half of it being gassed out of my face. Paisley I saw about 3 years ago at Countryfest and it was an amazing show, and i've been going for 18 years so I have seen quite a bit of country shows by now. He not only sounded great but also put on a hell of a show. Only bands I can remember liking more than him was Big & Rich, Paul Brandt and of course, Corb Lund.

And Whoever said country is a dying breed clearly hasn't been to Manitoba recently, there is nothing close to as popular as it. Can't comment on anywhere else though.

I know it's huge in the West and in the States....Hell, WYRK in Buffalo is usually very highly rated in Arbitron.

But, here is Southern Ontario, almost everyone who was doing Country has flipped to something else.

We've got a really hard go of it (820 CHAM in Hamilton)...but that is more of an AM vs. FM thing. Country 95.3 has tried for years to be a Toronto radio station, but has moved it's entire operation back to Hamilton.

"The Farm" in Winterpeg is one of our stations as well...apparently they are doing quite well.

We just got our Third country station not too long ago, a few other's play a bit of country but we now have the 3 dedicated ones. We also have a nice selection of country bars and clubs to choose from, Although I have been forcefully removed and banned from my favorite one, and all the other canad-inn's bars now.

With the number of cross over artists there are these days...my old PD had a joke that AC (Adult Contemporary) should stand for "Almost Country"

Although I doubt you'll hear any Brad Paisley on a "pop" station any time soon. It is hard to go anywhere right now without hearing "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood.

I heard "online" on the pop station actually. I also hear a bit of Taylor Swift too, but like you said not nearly as much as Carrie Underwood.

They jump to the most popular genre mostly, so I wasn't all that surprised to hear it. Nice change from all the trash they play most of the time.
