Removing steel from One90s

Recommended Posts

Why do you have to remove the steel?

Just remove the cap on the heel, use the allen key that comes with the skates and remove.

I'm sending the steel off to get it sharpened. My skates didn't come with any type of allen key, and thats really where the problem is. I don't know what kind of tool and what size I need to do it.

hey buddy, no worries, i hve the same skates. in the hole in the heel all you have to use is a socket set. make sure you have an extender piece, i think 8mm, or 10mm will do the trick

Ok. I've got the nut out on one skate. Any advice on getting the steel out? It feels like its cemented to the holder! Thanks for the help.

might take two people to do it, but hold onto the skate while another clamps and pulls the runner with a vice-grip. use a cloth or a piece of rubber so you don't damage the blade. i've got LS2Power holders/runners on my CCM ProTacks, and i'm on my second set of steel.

it works everytime, but might take a little elbow grease.

That'll work.

If you have a bench vise, mount it in there and slap the heel of the boot forward.

8mm socket.

I finally got them off...I tried the vice grip method with no luck. I ended up using a rubber mallet to just beat them out of there. It actually worked really well. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
