What curve for stickhandling?

Recommended Posts

So was thinking about getting a Kovalev or Drury, anyone know if they are good for stickhandling?

I already tried curves like Naslund but I feel like there is to much depth in, the curve is not straight enough.

It's ALL Personal Preference.

I've seen guys dangle with meathook curves that I wouldn't even TRY to use.

There are some proponents of certain curves for certain "styles" but in the end it's what works for YOU and YOU alone that matters.

Not much help I know - but you'll have to try them out to decide if they work for you.

I'll have to second Snipers really helpful answer.Grab some wood blades (or a friends stick with your chosen curve ) of the pattern you want to try and practice a bit.Give it a bit of time to adjust to the new curve.Good luck.

Get yourself a perfectly straight blade and stickhandle with that. Then when you go back to your normal curve, it'll seem ten times easier.

I concur. I've always found it easier to stickhandle with a bigger curve, but it's all up to syle and personal preference. I use a lot of toe drags and I find the bigger curves make it a lot easier to pull the puck back.

Look at Crosby's curve, he can dangle alright.
