How Do You Know The Year Model Of Your Stick?

Recommended Posts

If I go to the shop today and buy a stick, how do I know whether or not it's this years model or leftover inventory from last year? Looking at the Stealth CNT and Warrior Dolomites in particular.

Why would I worry about it wearing down? It's not a perishable item.

There are always minor tweaks done from year to year. And I'm sure some people like myself want to know if they are the buying the latest model of the stick.

I mentioned the wearing down because that would be the only thing one should worry about a stick that looks the same as last year, even though graphics mean jackshit.

If there were any tweaks done, like the SLs getting "better blades," the new models would have a sticker advertising that. The sticks you mentioned haven't had anything major done and you'd be hard-pressed to improve on the CNT Stealth.

Thanks Mack. Do companies usually do different paint jobs from year to year to differentiate it or do they leave them alone and just roll out the new series practically unnoticed?

Honestly, I think companies have new paint jobs just to make people buy the old stock with the new package. I have silver Synergy STs that don't feel or perform any different than Synergys from 2002-2003.

I think the later models have more black than blue on them, but other than that I'm not sure of any changes. I've only used a couple pro stock but they were pretty much black with some blue.

I have a prostock cnt stealth from 06 and a cnt stealth from 07 (well I'm assuming its an 07 because I just got it a couple weeks ago), the paint jobs are identical, but there is almost a light grip coating on the prostock where as the retail version I just bought is smooth as any other easton stick. I don't know if that is a difference between the years, or if maybe the pro stock just has a little grip coat added to it. I have a prostock SE that feels like it has the same slight grip feel to it but its not the grip version (never picked up a retail SE so not sure if it has this or not.

Wow, we usually have to deal with how everything looks, and now we have to put up with shelf life.

I get teary-eyed thinking about the future leaders of our country.

Doc,

It was an older model as well the new shafts have the paint silk screened to prevent stripping when taking off tape etc..
