Ahriman 1 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 This year couldn't possibly have gone worse for my bracket, had Michigan winning a few games. Denver and UMD in the regional champ game and UND over NH. Goddamnit. Not that I didnt want air force to win, I just didn't think they would. The only thing that could possibly salvage my bracket is if UMD goes to the championship game at this point. epstud74 24 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 BC is having a rebuilding year. Everyone goes through it. It seems like the entire WCHA and CCHA is down this year as well.. I was surprised at Michigan, but weirder things have happened in the NCAA tourney.

Wolverine 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 Born and raised in Vermont. However, I've worked at the University of Michigan for the last 10 years. I was pulling for the Wolverines (no shame in that). I have to go with the Catamounts now! Go Cats Go!What really sucks about the whole tournament is the span of time between the Region Championships and the Frozen Four....Take Vermont for example: play the Regional Championship on Saturday, March 28th. Then wait until Thursday, April 9th to play again. WTF?It just CRUSHES any momentum a team has. Any team! Especially a hot goalie. (hell, that is exactly what happened to Michigan's Billy Sauer last year. ) BUT NO! Everyone must wait for the "Big Dance" to play out first! Sad.

psh 25 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 Anybody been watching the NCAA tourney? I'm a Miami alum so I was pretty pumped about that win over Denver. Considering we're rolling with eight freshman this year, Miami could be very dangerous for the next few seasons.UNH just tied North Dakota w/ .3 seconds left on the clock! That was badass. There has certainly been drama this year, with the VT/AF game, the UND/UNH game, and the UMD/Princeton game. For UMD to score with 40 seconds left and then with .8 seconds left to tie it and then to win over Princeton in overtime was ridiculous. I heard a commentator point out that, in his opinion, UMD had been on both sides of the 2 greatest NCAA games in history. I think they lost the NCAA championship to Bowling Green in quadruple overtime in 1984, and then they won the Princeton game on Friday. Too bad everyone is watching basketball. They are missing some amazing hockey. It drives me insane that the rules of basketball ensure that a game that is close in the 4th quarter will grind to a halt and remove all drama. I watched the Pitt/Xavier game and even though it was a 4 point game, the constant fouls and time outs rendered it so excrutiatingly boring I haven't been able to bring myself to watch any more of the basketball tournament. The frozen four can't come soon enough.Go Bemidji--I think the time is ripe for a good David and Goliath story. Bemidji over BU in the final--how improbable would that be? nickyb13 9 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 I am doing a practicum at the RMU island sports center where the Robert Morris teams play, got to watch "Bobby Mo" play niagra to a very boring 0-0 tie.
thecat1792 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2009 I absolutely prefer college hockey to the NHL. The atmosphere is outstanding, all the fans are very in to it. I live in CT so I get to see the Yale team a lot. It's $8 to get in, the mood is pretty festive, and these kids are playing like it's the last shift they'll ever see. How can you beat that?
