Easton Synergy S-9 Shoulder Pads

Hi Guys. I'm looking to get a pair of these but I'd like some opinions on them from some guys who have them. How are they for fit and I'm concerned about their protection level for a semi-contact hockey league.( We do some hitting on the boards but keep it tame.) I want to be sure they'll give me proper protection because you always get the one guy who gets a little carried away at times and delivers a good jolt. I want a protective shoulder pad but still fairly light for agility reasons.

The S9 is a top of the line pad and may actually be more than what you need if you aren't playing full contact. The fit and feel of the S5 is about the same but they lack the BioDri lining. Overall they are very similar but have a little less padding but you'll save about $30 as compared to the S9. Check out this thread for more info.

Thanks, lb33knight appreciate the response. Picked up a pair on Saturday on sale. Got them for almost the price of the S-5's, just ten dollars CDN more so I went with the S-9's.

Tried them on for the first time Monday night. Amazing mobility and lightness. They just move with you and you don't even feel like you have anything on your shoulders. Love the low profile shoulder cups. Toke a few good hits and they absorbed the shock really well. Hardly felt anything. I find that amazing for a shoulder cap that is so compact. Their right, it's just the right balance between lightness and protection. I'll be using these on a regular basis from here on in. I'll give you an update in a couple of months of how they work out.
