Reebok Slide

Hey there,

i just got an idea and i need your help/thoughts.

Do you guys remember this 80s fitness and workout thing called "Slide" by Reebok? There was some retro show on TV where they showed stuff which was popular back then and they talked about 80s aerobic. I saw these Reebok "Slide" during one segment and i thought they would be usable for hockey related things. You could train your stride off the ice and stickhandle with it.

Did anyone use this Slide-thing yet?

I used one in pysical therapy after breaking my leg recently.

A few years ago my team went to Halifax for a training camp in the middle of the season and we went to a place called the Total Hockey Gym and they had those mats and we did the skating plus we did in stride shooting with them. it was a pretty tiring workout by the end of it

The lightning have a few slideboards with the Lightning logo on them in their gym.

One of the training centers here where my son has gone uses these in conjunction with a UHMW board in front so the kids can stickhandle a puck while sliding.

I can't comment on it's effectiveness but I see them being used quite a bit so there likely is something to it.

I have and I personally like it. It kept me entertained the entire time and I was hurting the next morning.

Slide boards are great, but the Rebbok slide is a cheap version of a slideboard. However, the really good ones cost a lot more.

I remember seeing Mike Richter on one of those during his rehab.
