Is there a rule in the NHL that says they must wear white laces or is it just the choice of all the guys? I've never seen anyone with black laces only white and yellow.

I dont think so but I believe refs can only wear solid white laces.

I stand corrected. Just saw a picture from last nights game between the COYOTES AND DUCKS. Daniel Carcillo #13 of the Phoenix Coyotes is wearing black laces with some white Graf 707's.

yeah ref's must wear white laces

not sure bout solid white..... i got whites in my skates for reffing but not solid white

I thought that maybe the reason the players dont wear the black laces is because it's harder to see if your laces are freying in black than white.
