Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted October 31, 2007 My little bro wants a new Pens jersey..The ones at the arena and in the local sporting goods store in PA have the names and numbers sewn on on the outer edge, but then each individual color is not sewn on top. It has print that LOOKS like stitching, but it isn't. The jerseys are about $150 so I'm wondering what level (dunno what else to call it) of jersey this is for the new style. Theres no fight strap, and like I said its not 100% just print on a jersey, the numbers/letters are sewn on the outer edge but not for the different color changes etc.My brother, he's only 15 so Im trying to tell him he'll outgrow whatever he gets this time so he might as well not make someone spend tons on it for Christmas for him, but he's pretty adamant that it kinda looks cheap with the way the ones we found at the Mellon Arena are.I agree, plus I need a new jersey and I'm done growing so I'd like to get another, and I can afford to get a nice one with everything sewn etc.I'm just trying to find out what all the new names and options are for the new jerseys (Replica, authentic etc.?) Rustpot 1 Report post Posted October 31, 2007 Get last year's on closeout.I personally don't like jerseys with names on them unless they're a marquee player. I still cringe when I see Joseph and Fedorov jerseys in the stands at Wings games. Crosby, Lemieux for sure, maybe some others. For $150 and not fight strap, it is the replica or Premier. $75 for a personalized youth jersey though, much better.New Edge authentics start at $200 or 250 without namesEdit: The 3 jerseys I own- Yzerman dark replica, no-name Pens dark 90's replica, no-name Pens light 90's replica. If I got a new jersey it would be a white Lidstrom Premier. New cut, new captain sort of thing. I plan on eventually getting Lemieux put on my dark jersey, the other Pens I got when I was a kid and would also have Mario put on so I could display it somehow. Stores around here have the fully stitched in Adult sizes, and the printed/stitch combo ones have been youth sizes. If they're $150.00...that's probably the best price you'll find. I saw a fully stitched Crosby (Adult XL) for $214 here the other day.NFL has 3 levels.AuthenticReplicaReplithenticI've seen a printed Twill combo in stores...I assume that is the the "Replithentic". Replica are screened and Auth is fully stitched.Maybe RBK is doing the same for the NHL.
Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted October 31, 2007 Fully sticthed for $214? Dang, what are the ones on NHL.com that are $250 blank and add $80 for a name? Would that be real deal authentic?

DCott 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2007 just like RBK to do the stitching illusion. the low level RBK goalie pads are like that too. the front face is just one piece of synthetic leather/whatever it is idk, with a stitch along the color change lines. looks like different levels of fabric for the different colors, but it isn't. it's the biggest difference between the premiers and the low level pads.
