gxc999 7 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 It all began 3 or 4 years ago when the no-talent hack 3rd basement, Russ Johnson, a.k.a. Ron Johnson, had a moment of lucidity and protested the Devil in the team name. This apparently had nothing to do with deflecting the criticism of his .209 batting average at the time. I've gone to atleast 6 or 7 of the teams games and never even heard anyone mention it. However, people did mention the repeated 100+ loss seasons.

Now they're busy driving slow during rush hour on their way to Denny's or telling the rest of us how we should live our lives.

gxc999 7 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 BTW, the "Rays" have recently traded all their talented young playersaway for, get this, more prospects. Who needs a budding superstar in Delmon Young when you can get a double A pitcher in return? The last good trade we made was for Scott Kazmir, other than that, we've never gotten much in return for what we've given up.

Garza was Minnesota's second best pitcher last year and an absolute stud.Delmon Young is good but he's a headcase and pitching is more important than hitting. Also, it's not like the Rays don't still have hitting. They have the #1 hitting prospect in baseball YET AGAIN who will start the year playing 3b for the big club. Their organization was rated as having FIVE five star prospect. Even teams like the Reds and Yankees who have studs ready for the majors only have 2-3 each.
