changing skate tongues

I got a pair of Vapor XIVs, and I don't care much for the stiff tongue. How would I go about changing to a felt-type tongue? Would I need to take it to a LHS (none in my area, unfortunately)? Could I do it myself with the right tools? I really have no idea, so any help would be appreciated!

well if you have a tounge already you should be able to take it to a local shoe repair shop and they should be able to do it for you. if you don't have a tounge i know EWH has some.

I bought mine from EWH and had my local shop install them (although they sent it out to an equipment manager that had more experience).

It was definitely worth it.

I did that once, by hand; it's medium in terms of difficulty because of the confined space and the thick material.

I used a sewing machine needle to lock-stitch it, from outside to inside (toe cap to tongue).
