Ipod Vid or Zune?

I am going to buy a 1gb shuffle for running because it seems convinient for running and working out. But I want a 30GB MP3 for bus rides for college hockey and for chillin in some of my boring classes.

Zune-$99

Ipod Vid-$180

I have itunes and I just downloaded zune, zune is kinda weird because it breaks up albums and artists, even if its the same artist. I like itunes better than zunes software.

I want something that is going to last and soemthing that has good battery life.

The zune is pretty sweet because you can turn it and the video or picture automatically turns as well. Reviews are good on both. But I am thinking if I get a zune I have to keep my itunes and zune software both up to date.

with the zune you can put picture while music is playing, can the ipod vid do that?

I guess I have been going back and forth between the two and it sucks because they both seem like good products and I dont know which one to get. Does anyone have experience with both of them? How about zune users. Should I trust at how new they are compared to the ipods.

Also do you trust refurbished if its straight from the company?

Any input, thoughts, or comments would be great, thanks in advance.

I was in the same dilemma last summer. To make my point short, bought the Zune, kept it for a week and sold it wishing I would have bought the iPod.

I had to use the money I sold it for to pay bills.

Still looking to buy an iPod as we speak.

Does anybody know how to fix the artists from being broken up in zunes software. On some of them you ccan change the artists name and it will go into their category, but otherones will have a seperate category which is retarded. I am wondering on the zune its self will this happen. I am leaning towards the ipod just because of the zunes software, its poor and unorganized. The zune itself seems to be pretty nice though...

i'm pretty bias towards apple products i love them. I say Ipod, but get apple care because anything aside from physical abuse to the Ipod apple will replace it with a new one for free for 2 years. Its worth it my older brothe broke like 10 in a year and everytime a brand new one.

because you don't know my older brother. He it the worst with electronics. Always breaking cd trays and such. Myself I have only had one Ipod since the first one I got and that was beacause it was stolen. I have never had any problems with them.

I'd recommend a Zen Vision.

I owned 3 Apple ipods shuffles and 2 broke within 1 year. Apple is pretty good at replacing ipods within the warrantee period but I would rather have something built right the first time. I have had no problems with the Vision and love using it for movies on the bus!

I hate that the Ipod library does not sync with my windows music library like windows media player does (if it can be done please let me know how). I also don't like having to convert files from one format to the other (i'm lazy). I preffer a windows based player like the Zune (Zune II is suppose to be out today and looks good) or the Samsungs.
