revision_88 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 i have the new product catalog here and its pretty impressive. the new Johnson two piece stick looks pretty good, they are also putting out protective for this year. gloves was very interesting they have like 3 new lines of them. one line is custom MIA gloves with the warrior logo on them. the creeper looks a little bit like a tour glove mixed with an eagle glove. i will try and put up some pictures if possible soon. has any one else seen or heard anything about this stuff? Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 I refuse to purchase any of their products based on their drug paraphenalia, sexual innuendo's and otherwise tasteless advertising campaign.

D aka speck 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 why do you even play hockey if you are such a prude Is that a general question for everyone that is repulsed by Warrior's blatantly public grown-ups only marketing to children, or are you trying to start a new thread? Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 why do you even play hockey if you are such a prudeIn the event that that was directed at me....I don't wish to support this company due to the fact that I am the Commissioner of the hockey league in my city, and do not wish to promote sex, drugs and other unprofessional attributes to the children, or parents of the children that I am accepting into my league. Furthermore, I coach/teach the 10U's and the 14U's in the area here and will not use their equipment personally as I do not want to convey any of those messages to the youths that I am working with in the sport. Call it prude, or call it CYA....but my butt is the one on the line working with these kids day in and day out to help build this sport in my community. And until you have to hold this sense of pride and responsibility for hundreds of aspiring hockey players at a very impressionable age....I really don't feel that you are in a position to call me a prude. revision_88 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 haha very well but for some reason warrior hockey is widely popular for these marketing techniques and the equipment that backs these advertisements is definately quality product. i dont think warrior really cares that you dont let your players use the product because they happen to be selling it to everyone else. I doubt that Warrior is feeling any pain in their financial statements due to my 300 player hockey league, and my personal distaste for their product. But I can promise you this, that myself, my league, and the other coaches that have the same sentiments with regards to Warrior are not the only people in hockey that feel this way. They are taking it too far, and I feel that it will come back to plague the company in the future.
D aka speck 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 He's not alone. I think I've done a pretty good job at teaching my son that it's inappropriate to run around with his johnson in his hand. I refuse to let him skate around with the Warrior version! If there were more responsible parents to follow suit, it wouldn't be an issue.
revision_88 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 that is definately a valid prediction, but with current trends in hockey product warrior is at the top of the game in aesthetics and unless other companies (especially ccm) start doing a better job at making there equipment more pleasing to the eye warrior will continue to gain popularity regarless of whatever sleazy marketing techniques they happen to be currently using.the truth of the matter is, while some players dont care what their equipment looks like, the other 90% of them do. and those 90% dont seem to care that warrior is doing what they are doing. I personally feel that especially since they are not my kids, and one of the only voices in my community that can speak intelligibly to them about hockey (Asheville NC is not exactly a hockey mecca) I feel the need to present myself in a professional manner and someone to look up to. After all....I don't want to be Commissioner all my life and would love to pass the torch along to someone else in the community. Maybe one of my students currently will step up to the plate in years to come.

I'm with you completely. Not only for the reasons you stated, but I think their products are completely overhyped, overpriced and overrated IMO. I have also had an extremely negative experience with their customer service. I'm selling the Warrior gloves I once used (they fit good for about a month, and then became way too supple) and really want nothing to do with this "company." mrusse01 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 I don't understand their marketing at all, it really boggles my mind. Who is actually greenlighting this? I promise you it's got to be one or two people responsible for this because there is no way you could find a group of people who think this is actually a good plan. I'm not offended by the vulgar nature of it, frankly I could care less, what offends me is just how stupid the whole thing is. The 'Johnson'? That's just dumb. Period. Seriously, who is going to think that is cool? Kids? I don't think so.
