CCM Vector 6 skates

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

New here and this is my first post!!!

I just picked up a pair of Vector 6 skates, they feel comforable and seem stiff enough for steady hockey use.

Does any one have any personal experience with them?

How do you like them?

Are they stiff enough to play 3 times a week without breaking down?

I have them as a back up to my fav Bauer 8090, I traded in some equipment at play again sports, so the price was right.

These skates seem very well made, any help please.

Thanks

the V.6's are a decent-level weekend warrior type of skate, but you're in for a rude awakening if you think they'll be anything like your old 8090s. they might be stiff enough to play 3-4 days a week for MAYBE a month or two, but expect them to mush out pretty quickly at that frequency of play, especialy if you're an experienced skater who has no problems flexing your 8090s.

I agree. They will probably break down rather quickly playing that many times a week. The Vector Pro or 10 would have been a better way to go. (Sorry!) If you can't take your Vector 6's back and upgrade, I'd do it this way. I'd split the number of times you use each skate to minimize the usage on both. Twice a week for each skate will probably help both of them to last much longer. Playing four times a week or more you really need a top of the line skate to have any kind of durability of any kind over an extended period.

Thanks so much,

I think you are right,

When my 8090's go on there last leg, maybe I will try the Vector 10 or the Supreme 70 or one 90,

With my Hockey club we have several games a week and a clinic on an off night

I'm also coaching on Sat. and Sun. So at least five times a week I'm on skates.

does the supreme 70 fit like the 8090, I keep hearing that,

thanks

If you are playing 3 times a week they will not break down in a month. I have many customers who have them, including some who play 4-6 times a week, they hold up just fine. As with any skate, dry it well (not hang dry) and it won't break down. They are pretty decent mid-range skates that shoul dlast you a couple of years or mre at your level.

I don't know how you wear the two - my Vectors did not fit well at all compared to my 8090's.

Mine broke down in no time at all - 1 practice, 1 free hockey, and one game per week, plus outdor skating at least 4 nights a week. I am pretty big, and these skates got soft fast - and I dry my skates in front of a dehumindifier. I would strongly suggest stepping up to the 8's or 10's if you like the Vector line.

UPDATE:

So far after two games and two practices the skates feel very comforable

They are baked as well and fit perfect.

so far so good, if they hold up... great, I like the fit of the vector line,

down the road maybe if needed I will pick up a pair vector 10 or 8 skate will see......

Thank You.
