Blade alignment

Recommended Posts

I've switched holders on my One90 skates from LS2p to Pitch 3 ... didn't like the way they were alignmed and had them realigned and still one of the holders is not aligned to my liking.

I assume that when you realign the blades ever so slightly you are essentially making the holes bigger to one side.

Will the blade then not stay firmly in place due to too much drilling if I have my blade realigned yet again?

The answer is yes. Never a good idea to change holders from stock because you end up with this problem. If you have holder shifting, you will need to drill virgin holes between the old holes. There is nothing like a Virgin hole to give you the grip you need and prevent slippage. No pun intended.

This is why if I do decide to swap holders on my XXXXs that I will be shipping them to someone that I know can do the job correctly. And I'd be happy to spend the extra money to make sure the job is done right... best of luck man, hope everything gets fixed for you.

You can always ask the LHS to fill in the holes with epoxy and re-drill from scratch. It's not perfect, but it can salvage a swiss-cheese sole, I'm told.

He did fill the holes with something he uses to fill up ski binding holes but when he went to drill right next to the previous hole now filled in with this black stuff it would pop right off.

He's a good guy (lhs employee). I was right next to him when he did the realignment and to my surprise it's easier said than done.

Thanks Lawn Goalie
