Tacks 892 Blade

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any expirience with the Tacks 892 wood tapered blade? I went to a LHS and was looking for wood tapered blades and while they didn't have any in stock, he offered to order some of these for me.

I'm mainly wondering how short the hosel is. I have used CCM 8.0 comp. tapered blades and I noticed they have a longer hosel than Easton and some others. If anyone is able to compare the Tacks blade and the 8.0 that would be helpful.

Also, is the Ovy pattern a Drury clone or is the Lemieux?

Thanks.

I was using one earlier this year. The hosel seemed excessively long. I thought about cutting it but wasn't sure if that would affect it. I can measure it when I get home and post the hosel length.

FWIW - It started to break down after three sessions. Normal wood blade type break down. Was surprised it started to go so quickly. Then again, I haven't used a wood blade in years.

Thanks, stick. But, just to make sure we are on the same page, you mean the hosel was really long, or the tenon(the part that goes into the shaft). I only ask because I can't imagine cutting a hosel and having th blade still be usable....Thanks

Oops, I meant the part that is inserted into the shaft.

I'll get you a measurement from the end of the shaft to the heel of the blade. Oddly enough, when I replaced that blade with a Warrior Dolo2 blade I had to cut another inch and a half off of the shaft.

We have them in the Kettler Pro Shop. Look decent to me much like the Wood Synthesis. Personally I could not get them to last for more than 2 weeks on average and with composites on clearance all over the place for the same coin, I would rather stick with one of them
