Dare to Dream 1980 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Alright so Im switching skates from one90's to XXXX and i was just wondering how much of an adjustment will it be... Will it take 1 skate to get used to it or maybe 3-5? i know everyone is different but i was just wondering on personal experience

duch 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 The XXXX's are definitely a wider boot. The fit is somewhat different from the Supreme skate being slightly looser but not overly sloppy. I have a wider fore foot and I find my toe area is much more comfortable in a Vapor as opposed to the Supreme boot. The heel in a Supreme feels slightly narrower to me personally as well. As far as skate stance and profile both are about the same because they both use the Lightspeed holder and blade, but as previiously mentioned the blade length is different which may take about five to seven skates to really adjust to. Since when has the XXXX been wider than the One90? This is the second place I have seen this statement on here. I realize the fit is different but I have been under the impression that the XXXX's were a narrower fit (seeing as that is why I got them over the One90's). quasi 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Several people on this site have stated that the XXXX is both wider and deeper.http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...31951&st=
djinferno 2 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Several people on this site have stated that the XXXX is both wider and deeper.http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...31951&st=15they ae deeper but not wider, people that feel they are wider are deforming them a bit by heat molding a size to narrow
pat19 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 shit i was planning on doing the same thing tonight and now i'm nervous. i know JR and people always say if one fits you the other won't but i don't think the one90 fits me perfectly and i don't know how big of a difference it will make. if i go from a 10d one90 to a 9.5 d xxxx will that help with the width difference at all. this is gonna sound stupid because i'm sure it's just feel but is there any way to tell if a skate is too wide? TBLfan 25 Report post Posted December 29, 2007 When I tried on the one90s they felt narrower than the vapors I tried... It not a black and white deal here, there are shades of grey as not everyone has feet shaped the same way.
BGM 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2007 The only difference as far as on-ice transition from One90s to XXXX would be I think more forward flex in the XXXX. Other than that both have similiar holders (LS2, LS Power) for the most part. If you were going to like a Graf skate then I would say it might take a few skates to get transitioned. duch 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2007 Yes, just use them tonight. It's not a significant difference and it won't take you long to adjust to the XXXX's. Once you're on them a few times you'll be fine. Might be a different story if you where changing brands. If you where going to Grafs,RBK's or Eastons it would take you a bit longer. I have the One90s which people have complained they are too stiff but I thought they weren't bad at all.
Dare to Dream 1980 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2007 I went from XX to XXX and then to grafs and it took some time to get used to and then i went to one90s and it took no time. i thought it would take awhile being a different brand and a longer runner but no time at all. i dont get to use my XXXX til wednesday so ill post how they felt then. i hope it doesnt take too much time to get used to being that i have 4 games starting the week of the 7th
