was there a mirror or copy of the Epuck guide to bake skates?!?

Recommended Posts

Im looking jfor that guide to baking skates. After doing a search, I found various links to it, but the link is dead.

As per a previous post , I purchased some RBK 7k skates online after my local dealer had none. Well, I went in yesterday afternoon and took the skates. I asked if I could have them baked, and he told me he did not want my business.

There are no ovens around within 2 hours, so im forced to do it my own. I will play it safe, but I wore the skates once, and they were OK, but tight in the width department. I need to break them in quick as my OLD skates are no longer an option (gave them to my brother out of town over the holidays)

So does anyone have a link to that guide?!?

I know the basics (heat element OFF, far from things, etc. But I want to make sure I do it right!!!

As well, is 3 minutes right for the RBK 7k pumps?!? at roughly 175?!??

I'm good friends with the Marketing Manager at Epuck/HG....I spoke to him about this 2 months ago. They pulled the link due to negative publicity and "pressure" from the manufacturers due to their instructions being "universal", yet each manufacturer has a different bake time and temperature recommendations. HG simply didn't want to be held liable, and thus pulled the link in name of self preservation. A wise move honestly.

ahh, i guess that makes sense.

Anyhow, I preheated my oven to 175, turned it off and stuck em in far from the elements.

After 5 minutes they BARELY seemed warm enough, but I wasnt willing to push the limits. I put em on, wore em for a while, and I guess Im going to wear the heck outta em and hope they break in properly!
