Recommended Posts

surely someone must have taken a flyer on one of those $30 CCM tapered shafts that are being blown out at various places...

I looked at one last night, it's definitely a mid flex, very long though. I got excited and thought it was a tapered shaft, but nope. 53" long means I'd have to chop off 5"...and that might get too stiff for me.

Still...$30...I'm tempted to go back and grab one for S&G. And a can of spray paint, Vectors have to be the ugliest sticks ever made.

I picked one up today and stuck a Montreal Euro wood blade in there and Tacki Mac grip.

The shaft opening is kind of small. It was a very tight fit getting the blade in there, but a composite Sherwood looked like it would have been a better fit. It's a bit heavier than your average top end shaft, but it balances well with a wood blade. Seems pretty sturdy and I'd expect good things for durability.

It's definitely not a snipers shaft; the kick point is high up like most standard shafts. It has a nice pop to it, slappers are pretty strong, wrist shots don't come off so fast. It felt like about an 80 flex after cutting 1.5" or so, so the flex rating is about right.

If you like a standard shaft in 75 flex, it's pretty solid. For $30, it'll make a nice backup or practice stick. I probably won't use it in front of my L-2's or Endures though.

i bought 2 tapered ones, regular flex, at HG for $30 each.

i didn't like them much, but it was definitely a personal preference thing. i've been using whippier and whippier shafts and going to regular was a big adjustment. literally couldn't get a good snap shot off. if they're close to what you already use, they'd be a great deal. a bit heavy perhaps, but for $30 - no complaints.
