Off the top of my head, you can use moleskin, bunga pads, an old mousepad (cut up) or different lacing methods. There have been tons of threads on lace bite,I did a search for "lace bite" in topic titles only, and came up with thisThat should get you started. Jordan 13 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Are you saying that you are using the gel soles as pads on the heel?If you are then you have moved the foot forward, causing the lace bite. I would get the boot punched in the spot where your heel spurs are, it would be much more effective.
hockeymom 2 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Jordan is right about the in-soles moving the foot. Punching might help, but spurs are caused by too much movement and pressure, so it might not be the solution for you depending on your fit. I'd go speak with a good fitter about what's going on inside your skates. And search, there is a lot of really solid information about spurs and lace-bit on here. Any ideas on how to fix this?I get the exact same problem with my 9k's, if its not heel pain or blisters, its lace bite. Besides playing with pain, I just put band-aids on my feet. Ti-girl 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Do you pump your skates up AFTER you've laced them, or before?
habookus 1 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 after, but my right pump doesn't work so I usually just tape around my ankle.
DBLMINR 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 i play with guys that use heel cups to prevent heel spurs, and they have a wrap also that prevents lacebite. What is the deal with those rbk skates, i dont know any one who has them and i was wondering whats the purpose of the pump on a skate since most people like a tight fitting skate anyway. habookus 1 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 where can you get heel cups? Or the lace bite things.
AnthonyJTa 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2008 where can you get heel cups? Or the lace bite things. Most places that carry Dr Scholl's products would have moleskin, or heel cups of some sort. Check out the footwear department at an REI for Bunga Pads, etc.
