Sher-wood vintage V. Nike Bauer vintage

Recommended Posts

I have the Bauer Classics and they are awesome. The thin bicep pad is separate from the shoulder cap, whereas the Sher-wood bicep is attached to the shoulder cap. The Bauer's have awesome freedom of movement and provide fine protection for beer-league hockey.

I find the SW's to stretch out over time, I' have replaced them 2x and moved to some NBH Classics and some old SB88's I had floating around...

I cracked a rib with the classics, however it was open hockey and the kid hit me from behind [got his stick on my side as we went down] but I don't blame the pad I wasn't expecting amazing protection anyway, otherwise they are extremely comfortable.

I wore the SherWoods for my senior year in college (NCAA D3). I'm a big guy, 6'3" 220 and played a physical style, but I never had any issues with the Classics. The only thing I didn't like about them was the fact that the shoulder cap was connected to the biceps pad instead of free floating, but otherwise it was a good pad for me.
